The rebranding of GKMS locations throughout Jamaica.
GKMS tasked Atelier-Vidal Ltd. to develop standards and elements that could be used across the over 200 GKMS locations in Jamaica, with a view to creating a Destination Experience. The design team looked for existing features that were common across the board, that would form the basis for a standard line of improvements. The elements considered to be the “lowest common denominators” were the bulkheads, counters, under-counter facing and the walls. The suggested improvements to the various locations involved the use of cut-aways, extrusions and graphical overlays to enhance the visual appearance of the spaces. In many areas, the proposals involve simply cladding / overlaying the new design elements on the existing structures. This would keep costs reasonable as well as allow many of the elements to be pre-fabricated off site, decreasing the down-time for each location.
