The Masterplan for the Trident Estate is based on Mr. Michael Lee-Chin’s vision to return Port Antonio, the place of his birth, to its former glory as an internationally renowned tourist destination with a vibrant and sustainable local economy.
Portland Holdings is developing a multi-year, multi-phase resort and recreational estate located east of Port Antonio. The resort is an expansion of the recently re-developed Trident Hotel, which is currently one of the top Luxury Hotels in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Portland Holdings is owned by Michael Lee-Chin, a Jamaican and native of Port Antonio. Mr. Lee-Chin’s long term vision for the Trident is to return Port Antonio to its former glory as an internationally renowned tourist destination with a vibrant and sustainable local economy. The building out of the estate to include additional private villas, hotel rooms, recreational parks, staff housing, restaurants and retrofitting to the Trident Castle will help to improve the availability of luxury defined rooms in Portland, and increase the pool of professionals employed in the local tourism sector.
